A healthy pond has: Water, Plants, Fish, Snails, and Helpful bacteria.

We will be helping you design your pond so all these elements are happy and stay inside your pond.

1) Pick a spot in your yard that has 5 or more hours of sun per day

2) This spot should be fenced in or will be fenced in after your pond is in place

3) Lay out the shape of your pond with a garden hose

4) Rough sketch the shape of your pond here:

With a tape measure, measure the widest and longest area of your pond:

L=_____ ..W=_______ .D=_________

This will be number you will need to compute the dimensions of the liner you will need to purchase. the Length and Width can be measured you can then guess the depth you prefer, it should be at least 18 inches deep. 18" = 1.5 feet. Multiply the depth by 2 because there are two walls to cover in your new pond. In our example that would equal 3 feet. add that number to the Length and tack on an additional 2 feet to make installation much easier.

If you pond was going to be 8 feet long by 5 feet wide and 1.5 feet deep you would need the following liner l8 +3+2= 13 feet long. 5+3+2 =10 feet wide. you will need a liner 13 X 10.
